Abstract:
This article it is dedicated to the issue of communist party verifications of women party members during the’50s, in the N-V counties of Transylvania. It is a fact that during this verifications made by the Romanian Communist Party, many of those checked were women. Our study cases are focused on Maramures and Satu Mare counties were we have found many informations in archival documents about how the verifications of the local women organizations were aplied. Also, the documents are referring to how some women were excluded from the party, the general atmosphere during those inspections, the reactions of some women to the allegations that were made upon them. We believe that through our approach, we bring a contribution to knowledge a less documented topic by the historiography dedicated to the communist period.
