ISTORI(OGRAFI)A ISTORIEI IEROGLIFICE (1705)

Abstract:

My article is an historical introduction to the exotic world of the Cantemirian novel, The Hieroglyphic History (1705). Thus, it extracts some historical data from the narrative thread of the Cantemirian work, from the extended title of the novel, decrypts the types of masks, makes a summary of the 12 parts and exposes some guidelines in the manuscript bibliography and in the editions of the novel.
